Birding Hotspots

Where to see the birds:

  1. Grønningen and Hamborg Dyb – an extensive stretch of meadows where you can see lapwings, redshanks, herons, curlews and even peregrine falcons.
  2. Nordby Harbour – at low tide, a dry area of mud flat known as Næs Søjord appears.
    Here you can see many wading birds, Brent Geese, cormorants and eider.
  3. The beach - you can spot all kinds of birds on the southern end of the beach.
    Throughout winter, you can see large numbers of small birds.
  4. The tidal flats – a great many wading birds. A couple of hours before or after
    high tide, you can see the birds close to the coast.
  5. Keld Sand and Sønderho – many wading birds, geese and ducks at high tide, along
    with large numbers of small birds.
